Hillman Brown & a Leading National Housing Association

January 2011 - August 2012

Initial contact and discussions with representatives at a Leading National Housing Association have proved to be very promising with an expected opportunity to review the insulation requirements of a minimum of up to 400 houses from their housing stock. Funding is being arranged with a view to commencing the surveys once permission has been received. We then hope to be awarded the remaining housing stock on the short list for this financial year to survey and insulate. 2012 has seen a significant rise in the number of housing stock requiring insulation and is still ongoing. A new project for External Wall Insulation is also about to come on line with a proposed start on possibly an entire street - looking forward to the commencement.

Hillman Brown and Job Centre Plus "Work Trials & Work Experience Programme"

February 2011

Inclusion on the Governments and the Job Centre Plus new "Work Trials" and "Work Experience Scheme" for 18 to 21 year olds is a new and exciting addition to Hillman Brown. Not only are we pleased to be associated with the scheme and to offer valuable work experience to those actively looking to secure employment but, also to hopefully have suitable candidates from the scheme to offer secure positions to within the organisation.

Hillman Brown & Housing Support Solutions

Summer 2010

Hillman Brown were recently given the opportunity to provide it's services to a Lincolnshire based support solutions company.

Housing Support Solutions of Lincolnshire, covering Grimsby and Lincoln areas recently asked Hillman Brown for guidance and advice on additional insulation measures within all of their properties together with helping to reduce the cost of each homes utility supplies.

This was achieved following surveys being conducted at all properties and "Loft insulation top up" measures being carried out along with "Cavity Wall insulation" measures also being carried out.

Furthermore, independant advice was given on transferring utility supplies to an alternative supplier offering "genuine & realistic" reductions.

Hillman Brown & Watsons Properties of Norwich

November 2010 - February 2011

We are pleased to have been chosen by Watsons Properties of Norwich to undertake a sizable survey programme starting in the winter of 2010 and continuing through into 2011 for Cavity Wall Insulation of a selection of properties being managed by Watsons.

Whilst the selection of properties is varied from "blocks of flats" to "standard homes" our experienced surveyors have delivered the schedule on time and more importantly - within budget.

Landlords forced to Insulate Homes

Hillman Brown (Insulation Division) are constantly being approached by Private Landlords, Letting Agencies and Housing Associations following a visit to their tenants by our advisors, informing all households of their eligibility of the Governments Home Insulation Grant Scheme and the "Free" "No Obligation Surveys" we carry out to determine those eligable.

The changes that have been announced (November 2010 by Energy and Climate Change secretary Chris Huhne) mean that “from 2015 all landlords will be expected to make reasonable home improvements or incur a fine and their tenants will also be given the right to request home energy saving measures”. Furthermore, Local Authorities will also be urged to demand that landlords improve Energy Efficiency through Loft & Cavity Wall Insulation in the worst – performing properties.
